I've disappeared off the face of DA for the entire semester. The BFA program kicked my butt and resulted in sleepless nights every few days instead of once every few weeks like I was used to. But I learned a lot, and I'm grateful to be in the program. I hope next semester works out a little better in terms of time management.

I was convinced that I would not make it into the BFA since I got a B+ this semester, and I figured you'd need at least on an A level of work to get in, but here I am on the list. They only accept 26 people per year, and I am accepted into the graphic design program. I checked the list three different times to make sure it was MY NAME. I still doubt that I saw it right. XDDD I'm in such utter denial still. I need to get OVER MYSELF. I'm kind of afraid that I will get the form letter saying, "you did not get into the program, take DSGD 104 and 105 again."


I need to just sleep or something.

Never have I been so happy for a semester to be over. At the beginning of the year, I had all these grand plans not to procrastinate and to get everything done on time so I wouldn't have to do that last minute panic attack rush of death, but it never happened.

I haven't uploaded anything to my DA this semester in hopes that by the end, I would have fixed my projects in my design classes so they were a little better than how they were when I turned them in. I never got around to it, even though I had to submit them for review in order to get into my major.

I don't think I'll make it into the Graphic Design major this year, so I'll probably have to retake Design 104 and 105. :\ In a way, it will be better because I'll get to sharpen my skills, but I'll spend another year in college.

On the brighter side, I am now employed by my same employer this summer, (LARC at SJSU), not to tutor, but to do something more artsy. I will be designing their brochure and their notebook inserts, and doing a little interior design. I'm a little intimidated by the project, since there will be no teacher to guide me to the best solution, and if it sucks, I'll probably hear about it from people in the program. But, it's a great opportunity for me to apply my skills and filling out my resumé.

2 weeks into school and I'm already breaking my promise to myself not to procrastinate. I'm a slight bit behind in schoolwork. But that is also because it was my friend's birthday and I spent quite a bit of time with her over the weekend. I will vow to get over my apathy for doing homework that seems difficult and tedious. I am now going to psych myself up for doing a content map for Graphic design 105 on sustainable architecture.

I'm rather liking the new modular design on the DA. The brighter colors look a lot better and fresher. Yay for redesign!
